Corrosion inhibitor for WhatsMiner Hydro + Heat Core

We’re about to commission our first Heat Core NS200 system with WhatsMiner M65S and are finalizing the coolant setup (~35% propylene glycol + demineralized water).

WhatsMiner documentation mentions a “composite corrosion inhibitor from Peric” with dosing in wt%, but there is not further explanation of the exact specifications. Obviously we want to source this locally (EU) and not from China.

For those already running Hydro units from Whatsminer:

  • What corrosion inhibitor are you actually using?

  • Official WhatsMiner additive or an industrial equivalent?

  • Any long-term experience?

We’re specifically looking for reliable products available, or at least clear chemical specifications (e.g. silicate-free, OAT-based, etc.).

What is the officially recommended corrosion inhibitor? ?

For reference, these seem to be the key coolant requirements according to WhatsMiner:
• Glycol–water mixture with corrosion inhibitor
• pH range: 7.0–8.7
• Conductivity: < 2000 µS/cm
• Chloride: < 20 mg/L
• Sulfate: < 10 mg/L
• Total hardness: < 20 mg/L (as CaCO₃)
• Clear fluid, no precipitation

Not entirely sure yet how we’ll hit all parameters reliably. We’ll likely need to test a few options and measure before final fill.

If anyone has practical experience or product recommendations, feel free to share!

Happy heating :fire:

You can probably find other corrosion inhibitors for radiant heating systems.

Some in TG recommended Fernox.

Yes I saw that recommendation on TG. Our external HVAC technician has looked at the fluid requirements and told me that it shouldn’t be too hard to meet these using their standard solutions. Will have to wait and see what they are going to choose exactly for us.
